Why KUAS’ Engineering? |
Outline
Kyoto University of Advanced Science (KUAS) is an accredited private university which was founded in 1969 in Kyoto, Japan. KUAS is a medium-sized university with around 3,600 students. KUAS has two campuses; the new Uzumasa Campus, which is easy to commute to from Kyoto City, and the vast Kameoka Campus, located in the mountains of western Kyoto Prefecture.
Uzumasa Campus, also known as KUAS’ main campus, hosts the new high-tech Engineering Building alongside an international student dormitory, two libraries, a bookstore, an auditorium, a prayer room, and cutting-edge Engineering facilities. Meanwhile, Kameoka Campus opened the new Open Innovation Center Kameoka (OICK) in May 2023. OICK facilitates a 3,900 square-meter outdoor test track for vehicles and drone test flights.
In April 2020, KUAS established the new Faculty of Engineering, where students can learn about the most advanced technologies and a wide range of engineering fields through a practical study program. The Faculty of Engineering consists of international students from around 40 different countries, which makes for a cosmopolitan learning environment for students to prepare for competition on the global stage.
Top-tier professionals who can create innovations for the future are in high demand worldwide. KUAS’ Faculty of Engineering offers a high degree of flexibility in specialization so that students can gain exposure to a wide range of knowledge and obtain expertise in the various sub-disciplines necessary for professionally balanced engineers.
In addition to the trailblazing Engineering program, KUAS will offer two all-new English international programs at the Faculty of Bioenvironmental Sciences and the Faculty of Business and Economics from September 2025. These programs offered by KUAS will provide its students with a practical education to help them grow into leaders of innovation and ensure that they are capable of taking on the diverse challenges that society faces.
