Chuo University
中央大学

Chuo University is a prestigious private institution with its origins in a law school founded in 1885.
It offers faculties in Law, Economics, Commerce, Science and Engineering, Letters, Policy Studies, and Global Management, and is especially renowned in Japan for its excellence in legal education.
All three of its campuses are located in Tokyo. The Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Science and Engineering are situated in Bunkyo Ward, central Tokyo, while the other humanities faculties—Economics, Commerce, Letters, Policy Studies, and Global Management—are based in Hachioji City in western Tokyo.
In principle, most classes at Chuo University are conducted in Japanese, requiring a high level of Japanese language proficiency for admission. However, at the Faculty of Global Management, approximately 60% of classes are taught in English, allowing students to earn a degree by taking only English-taught courses. Notably, there is no Japanese language requirement for fall admission to this faculty.
Students in this program study global business and international economics, with abundant opportunities for practical training, internships, and the development of global leadership skills.
Chuo University also offers a scholarship program for international students. First-year undergraduate students receive a fixed scholarship of 200,000 yen, and those entering directly from overseas receive an additional 100,000 yen.
As one of Japan's most prestigious universities, Chuo produces graduates who go on to thrive in a wide range of fields. An increasing number of international students who study abroad at Chuo University find employment with Japanese companies after graduation. Many graduates of the Faculty of Global Management pursue careers at foreign-affiliated and global companies. To support these ambitions, Chuo University provides a dedicated career support program for international students.
