Shinshu University is a comprehensive national university that consists of 5 campuses, located in Nagano Prefecture, Japan.

It has 8 faculties (“Arts”, “Education”, “Economics and Law”, “Science”, “Medicine”, “Engineering”, “Agriculture”, and “Textile Science and Technology.”) and 7 graduate schools to accommodate a total of 1,100 staffs and 11,000 students (including about 300 foreign students).

Organic collaboration between the various departments is carried out utilizing the advantages of a comprehensive university, to achieve world level advanced and innovative education and research.

Also, based in the rich natural environment looking out onto the grand Alps group (or known as the "roof of Japan"), Shinshu University is deepening collaboration with the local community and industry to contribute to society as a center of innovation and creation to achieve a sustainable society.
